What are custom properties?

Custom properties (called Details in the app) are extra fields you can add to each person beyond the defaults (email, first name, last name). Examples: birthday, company name, favourite colour, loyalty tier.

Property types

  • Text — Free-form text (company name, city, etc.)
  • Number — Numeric values (order count, age, etc.)
  • Date — Date values (birthday, signup date, etc.)
  • True / False — Yes/no values (VIP status, agreed to terms, etc.)

Creating a property

  1. Go to People and click on any person
  2. Scroll to the Details section on their profile
  3. Enter a name, choose a type, and click Add — the detail is now available on all your people

Using properties in emails

You can personalise emails using properties. When composing an email, insert merge fields like a person’s first name or company name to make each email feel personal.
